Pressure-It can turn a lump of coal into a flawless diamond, or an average person into a perfect basketcase.
I saw this quote on facebook a while ago. I laughed. And then I worried.
Because I have been under a lot of pressure lately. And just when I think one thing is resolved, something else takes its place. I have felt fragile. It's not a welcome feeling for someone who prides themselves on their strength.
I find relief in these scriptures:
Psa.51:17 "The sacrifices of God are a BROKEN SPIRIT: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise."
In Isaiah 57:15 "I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."
I also find relief in the lyrics of a Leonard Cohen song. (Anthem)
The pressure has caused a few cracks. But those cracks will let the light in.
I will keep moving forward, and try to find joy in the journey.
Also, my new low carb lifestyle is totally working for me. It is exciting to start to see a life where I don't feel controlled by food!
